Dear Shipley Bantams,
This is just a short message of thanks, acknowledgement and appreciation for your support for Bradford Memories Dementia Cafe via financial donations. These are greatly
received and will help us to keep people in the city entertained on a Wednesday morning.
Mary and the volunteers do a wonderful job and we are now in our fifth year, supporting over 50 people per week living with Dementia and associated conditions as well as their families.
Many thanks
James Mason

THE BRADFORD BURNS UNIT FUND RAISER
The Burns Unit is a world renowned burns research facility set up at the University of Bradford following the Bradford fire disaster on 11 May 1985. The fire disaster at Valley Parade killed 56 people and injured more than 250.
On the weekend of 21st July 2007 the Shipley Bantams held an auction and a sponsored walk across Morecambe Bay, the result of which £6031.34 was raised for the Burns Unit funds.
This event started on the Saturday evening at the Shipley Club and following a poll in the Telegraph & Argus newspaper it featured two of the all time greats who graced the Valley Parade turf.
Cess Podd won the event with John Hendrie close behind him, they launched a beer named after themselves brewed by local firm Saltaire Brewery who donated a percentage of all the sales to the Burns Unit.
The Shipley Club also donated the profits from the beers sold that evening.
A massive auction took place for donated items from various sources including Bradford City FC, Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC, Southlakelands Holidays, Coronation Street and many more.
On the morning after this event a walk of Morecambe Bay took place with transport being provided by City Travel of Cross Roads Keighley, after the walk we headed down to Regents Caravan Park in Morecambe for refreshments.
In total a massive £6031-34 was raised and the cheque was presented to members of the Burns Unit at a City game.
