AUSTRIA 2024

Our trip to Austria set off on the morning of 22nd  July with a motorway trip to Reigate. After an overnight stop we flew out to Salzberg from Gatwick landing at midday.
We then made our way by bus to the Salzberg railway station where we took a long train journey to  Obertraun.
We arrived at the railway station and made our way on foot to our Chalet just 10 minutes walk away.
However it took a great deal longer than 10 minutes as a cyclist stopped to say hello, the cyclist was Alex Patterson.
Once settled in the Chalet we ventured out to find a really nice Italian restaurant before crashing out after the long journey.
On the Wednesday we took a ferry across the lake to Hallstatt a picturesque Austrian village we all loved.
After a cafe break we walked around taking pictures and admiring the views.

Then we all took a cable car ride to a Sky Walk which gave us some awesome views of the lake and mountains.
Sadly we had to make our way back to Obertraun and we found our way to the training camp where the team were playing.
There we met up with the City Away Days group who it's fair to say were in good spirits (probably because they'd drunk most of them).
There were other small groups of City fans who had made their way to cheer on the Bantams and we all had a great time especially after the game when fans and players mixed freely.
Then it was back to that nice Italian restaurant for a relaxing meal before retiring to our Chalet.
Thursday morning after breakfast we took the short walk to the railway station for the journey back to Salzberg.
We spend the afternoon in Salzberg sightseeing till we had to journey across town to the airport.
Shortly after 9pm we were up in the air and heading home, what a great time we'd had in a remarkably beautiful country
and hoping the team return next year.
