An appeal on behalf of :

.

.

We are a group of Bradford City FC supporters that use the online official messageboards of the club.

In September 2006 one of the forum members Joe Brett started a thread of counting down numbers from 100,000.

It was decided in the first weeks that this should be done for charity and Joe's chosen charity was the Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The supporters club The Shipley Bantams agreed to oversee the event.

On Saturday 5th April 2008 we hit the 10,000 mark and are now asking for donations through:

.

.Please note this event is not linked to Bradford City Football Club in any way other than that we are using the official message boards to count our numbers.

Should you wish to come and help us with our quest the address is:

The rules of the game are that you have to post the number below the number last posted and you must wait till somebody else has posted till you can post again.

~~~THANKS~~~
THANKS..
Hi all, Well that’s another season gone and the 4th full season the Shippers have run a coach to every away game since the conception of our supporters and travel club.
During the last 12 months we have continued to work on your behalf with the club where we are recognised as one of the leading supporters groups.
In the last 12 months we have managed to sponsor Guylian Ndumbu Nsungu and Craig Bentham. However, Guylian returned to Gillingham and Craig has been released by the club. We shall however look at sponsoring another player next season to help the club financially.
.
.
On a sponsorship note we would like to thank Graham of City Travel for helping to sponsor the Morecambe game and point out that was the second game the Shippers were associated with sponsoring this season.
Also the final figure for last summers walk of Morecambe Bay was £6031.34 which was presented to the Burns Unit on the pitch at VP before the Darlington game on 20th October 07 by Holly Barker and Dean Lambert.
May we point out another event the shippers are involved in, it’s a charity countdown on the Bradford City internet messageboard for the Yorkshire Cancer Research which at the moment has raised around £800. If you wish to contribute to it go to www.justgiving.com/ombcharitycountdown
.
.
We have had preliminary talks with the IDL club about some fund raising days for the above charities so watch out for some fun days to be announced.
Lastly can we thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a very happy closed season and we hope to see you all again next season for the promotion festival or pre season for the annual BBQ event at the Shipley Club.
.
.
Cheers
Steve and the other old git Stu.
Some of you will have signed the Stand Up Sit Down petition that I have been pushing throughout this season and approximately 700 have signed it which is great. Stand Up Sit Down is a national online campaign group that aims to put pressure on the Football Licencing Authority and the Minister of Sport to revoke the regulations requiring all-seater stadiums, whilst discussing experiences and ideas to take the campaign forward on the forum.
Some of you will have read that I have been aiming to set up an active group promoting safe standing at Bradford City in the City Gent fanzine and on this site too. Well there is now an online campaign for all of you who would like to have the choice to sit or stand at Valley Parade, perhaps in the Bradford end, the Kop or perhaps the bottom tier of the Northwest corner. There is an online petition where you can ad your own comments too. It also recommends other ideas for you to do that could help bring about the safe standing choice. Just log on to
